Tim was excellent from my first phone to his business and his visit to repair my subzero freezer door.  I have had a problem with my freezer door closing properly for quite some time. I had an authorized Sub zero appliance repair come out charge me several hundreds of dollars with no true solution.  Tim diagnosed the problem very quickly & offered me two solutions.  I took the more expensive route(only a few hundreds of dollars more)by having the remove the door front.  He found the issue. My door now closes perfectly & was a very honest guy! The appliance tech texted me in advance of arriving, checked our dryer, explained what needed to be done (and why) and what the cost would be. He immediately went to work and within about 1 hour, the dryer was fixed. The tech was very polite, explained each step and answered my questions. This particular French-door GE refrigerator was warming up in the fresh food section, reaching up to 65°F. It’s a common issue for GE French door refrigerators due to a failed evaporator fan inside the fresh food compartment. When the fan isn’t running, air isn’t circulated within the fridge, leading to an unhealthy and potentially dangerous situation. The compressor runs continuously in an attempt to satisfy the thermistor on the ceiling, but without proper air circulation, the thermistor remains unsatisfied, causing the compressor to overheat and burn its oil. We recommend replacing the fan as soon as possible to prevent further issues with the compressor. That’s why we keep these fans in stock to provide immediate repairs.

But what caused the fan to fail? In this particular case, it was a clogged drain line. This resulted in higher humidity inside the fresh food compartment, which ultimately caused problems with the fan, leading to its failure.
